The P-15 night vision goggle is a dual eye, dual tube (ITT PINNACLE), night vision system that offers the user depth perception and situational awareness that is not available with standard AN/PVS-14 night vision monoculars or even AN/PVS-7 dual eye single tube night vision goggles. The P-15 also meets or exceeds specifications of the AN/PVS-15 night vision goggles, and is in fact, preferred by many agencies. The P-15 is designed around many standard issue mil-spec depot level parts in order to make sustainment and procurement as fast and simple as possible. In today’s uncertain times of modern warfare, it is critical for the good guys to own the night. This requires the ability to see and navigate in total darkness with the same precision as during the daytime. Humans have a dual eye, stereoptic configuration that allows us to perceive the world around in 3-D. In the past, the US Military leaned heavily on what was then the pinnacle technology- the night vision monocular. A primary design goal of the new P-15 night vision goggle / binocular system was to address the historically appalling long lead times in obtaining parts for the AN/PVS-15 night vision goggles. Long lead times in procurement and repair of AN/PVS-15 goggle systems that sometimes took 9-12 months, prompted the need for a better solution. The P-15 was designed to be built from currently stocked, battle proven, milspec parts. The majority of these parts are already stocked in quantities at the depot level, so repair is fast and easy. Procurement times are greatly reduced as these critical parts are manufactured and stocked in significant quantities. P-15 performance has been improved and its weight was reduced making it the clear, “no compromise” choice in dual tube, night vision goggle technology.

P-15 night vision binocular/goggles operate on a single, commonly available, AA battery. This single battery design keeps weight to a minimum and makes field replacement of the batteries much simpler with less worry about polarity while inserting fresh batteries. The battery case design makes changing batteries easy, even while wearing gloves or in the dark of night, without compromising its watertight fit. AA batteries are the most readily available batteries around the world and can be found at local electronics stores, photo stores, and even drugstore chains. Standard batteries mean that you don’t have to pay for overpriced proprietary batteries, or even worse, be stuck in the field without the right batteries. Never be stuck without a charge when you need to lead the charge.

P-15 night vision goggles extend the capabilities of the AN/PVS-15 night vision goggles with a breakthrough, fully independent, articulating eyepiece design. That means that each eyepiece can rotate independently up and out of the way on the P-15 night vision binoculars. With other dual tube, night vision goggles like the AN/PVS-15, ANVS 9, and Night Phantom, the user either has to wear the goggles in front of both eyes or flip them up on the helmet for unaided viewing. With the P-15, you can simply rotate the each eyepiece out of the way as necessary. This offers tremendous versatility for the end user. If your mission profile calls for a dark-adapted eye, the P-15 can be used as a night vision monocular with one eyepiece up and one eyepiece down. Instead of flipping the night vision up on the helmet mount, which can be cumbersome and risk damaging the goggles, you can simply rotate both eyepieces up for a quick look with your unaided eyes. Of course, if you prefer, you can also flip the whole unit up on the helmet mount just like an AN/PVS-15. The P-15 extends your options with a better night vision solution.

The P-15 night vision goggle system comes with standard 1X lenses that are perfectly suited for navigational and situational awareness mission profiles. The precision-ground, optical grade, military lenses provide a clean clear image in the most demanding applications. However, some scenarios call for a greater stand off distance in order to safely gather intelligence. Long range surveillance and reconnaissance operations can be further enhanced with the P-15 and its dual tube, eyepiece design. Long range lens options are simple to mount and use clip-on type, Afocal lens designs. This advanced type of lens lets you clip the long range lens directly on top of the existing lens. This way, you do not have to remove the standard lens and expose the interior of the unit. Precision ground glass keeps the image sharp, while dual tubes let you maintain your depth perception, making it easier to judge distance to far away objects. The optional lenses are equipped in pairs and come in 3x and 5x configurations.
